  • Clean electricity generated worldwide from Canadian uranium avoids more than 300 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
  • The energy potential of Saskatchewan's uranium reserves is approximately equivalent to 6.5 billion tonnes of coal or 20 billion barrels of oil.
  • More energy is contained in Saskatchewan's uranium reserves than in all known Canadian conventional oil reserves (not including the Athabasca oil sands).
  • At the current rate of extraction, Saskatchewan's known uranium deposits will last for 20 to 30 years. This figure only includes known deposits. New deposits are continually being discovered through exploration activities.
